December 12, Last Thursday a one-day Lead farmer training workshop was held from 10 am in the hall of the deputy director’s office of the Habiganj Agricultural Extension Department. Agronomist Md. Aktaruzzaman, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Habiganj, was present as the chief guest at the TLTN Project Climate Demonstration Lead Farmer Training Workshop event at IDE Bangladesh. FTL Shah Mamunul Ahad, Project Field Team Leader, assisted by Tahmina Parveen, Market Development Officer,
S. M Abu Rasell, Milton Roy, and Sourav Halder, Market Facilitator, were in overall management of the event. In addition, training was provided as trainers on modern agricultural technology in seed and vegetable crop cultivation and care, improved seeds and pesticides, pest control by Swapan Kumar Singh, Territory Manager of Lal teer Seed Company LTD and Sub AssistantAgriculture Officer Rupak Kumar Das, etc. gave important discussions on vermicompost, earthworms, organic pesticide free vegetable cultivation. The main objective of the project is to introduce climate tolerant agricultural technologies in homesteads to ensure balanced family nutrition, in an easy way to teach those subjects among trainee farmers and their The cultivation of pesticide-freevegetables is encouraged and apart from this, the experts feel that climate tolerant agricultural technology will contribute to the development of agriculture in the respective areas through the implementation of demonstration.
In the said training ceremony, 4 people from Habiganj Sadar, 3 people from Bahubal Upazila, 5 people from Chunarughat Upazila, a total of 12 trainee farmers and dealers Md Safiuzzaman participated in the workshop
