Mr. Sarwar Ahmed Chowdhury Abdal has won the election of Sylhet District Lawyers Association and Mr. Jobair Bakht Juber has won the post of general secretary. Polling was held on Thursday (January 16) from 10 am to 4:30 pm on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Hall No. 2 of the association. Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Mr. Syed Mohammad Tarek announced the private results on Friday (January 17) at 6 a.m. after the counting of votes started in the afternoon. He was assisted by Assistant Election Commissioner Mr. M.Abdul Karim Akbari and Mr.Jamil Ahmad. 65 candidates competed for 26 posts of the Bar Association. Mr.Sarwar Ahmed Chowdhury Abdal won the post of president, Mr. Jyotirmoy Purkayastha (Kanchan) won the post of senior vice president, Mr. Mohammad Mokhlisur Rahman won the post of vice president-2.
Mr. Jobair Bakht Zuber has won the post of General Secretary, Mr. Wahidur Rahman Chowdhury as Senior Joint Secretary, Mr. Rob Newaz Rana has won the post of Joint Secretary 2. Also Social Affairs Secretary Mr. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Associate Social Affairs Secretary Mr. Hashan Tarek, Library Secretary Mrs. Hena Begum.
