Hamza Chowdhury, a British footballer of Bangladeshi origin, is coming to the country to play in the red-green jersey. The Leicester City star is scheduled to arrive in Sylhet on a Bangladesh Biman flight from London on March 17.

His mother, wife and children will be with him. After that, Hamza will go directly from Sylhet to his home in Snanghat village of Bahubal upazila of Habiganj.
There is a festive atmosphere around the arrival of Hamza in Habiganj. Various preparations are going on especially in Snanghat village of Bahubal.   From the elders of the village to the youth, everyone is busy with the wedding of their beloved child. Snanghat village and surrounding streets are covered with banners and festoons. In the afternoon a reception was organized by the villagers. There is great joy in the village, everyone is waiting for the arrival of their beloved son Hamza.


Abdul Enam Uddin, a resident of Snangha village, said, “Such a big international star is a child of our village, it is a matter of pride for us. What we can do for him is good luck for us. That is why we have taken the initiative to welcome him on behalf of the villagers.
Hamza Chowdhury, a footballer of Bangladeshi origin who plays in the English Premier League, is coming to Dhaka tomorrow Monday after tonight.
Bangladesh will face India in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on March 25. With this match, this footballer who played in Leicester City will make his debut in the Bangladesh team. However, football fans will have to wait for a few more days to see Hamza play in the country. Hamza will play his first match in Dhaka on June 10, in a home match against Singapore. The match will be held at the National Stadium. Before that, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFFE) has finalized the first round of plans for Hamza to come to Dhaka. Hamza Chowdhury will come to Dhaka with his entire family next Monday. His father, Dewan Morshed, has already arrived in Bangladesh and is staying at the Snanghat house of village. Bafufe plans with Hamza in his presence. Mother Rafia Chowdhury and her British daughter-in-law and grandchildren will come to Dhaka with Hamza Chowdhury on Monday. Buff has already sent the flight tickets of 9 people to London. Hamza Chowdhury will land at Sylhet Osmani International Airport next Monday at 11:30 am. From there, this Sheffield United footballer will go to the village house of Bahubal in Habiganj with his mother. They are residents of Snanghat village of Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district. But Hamza was born in Loughborough, England. A delegation of four members of BAFUF will reach Sylhet the day before to provide security to Hamza.
BAFUF members Golam Ghaus, Iqbal Hossain, Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen and Kamrul Islam Hilton will be in the delegation. They will go to Sylhet and meet with the local police administration. BAF President Tabith Awal is sending this delegation to Sylhet to ensure strict security arrangements for Hamza and his family. Meanwhile, around his arrival, the village women, men, children, teenagers, everyone is full of joy. Village youth Mahmud Mia said, “Hamza Chowdhury is not only the pride of our village, he is the pride of the whole Bangladesh.” We may not have known him that way for a long time. Now we can recognize him after announcing that he will play for the country. I feel proud that such a football star is the son of our country.
He said, “Football is the most popular sport in Bangladesh. But our country is lagging behind in football due to various reasons. We hope that Hamza Chowdhury will now play for the country. Football in Bangladesh will now go far. Hamza Chowdhury’s father Dewan Morshed Chowdhury told RedTimes that all the countrymen have asked for prayers for his Son. May he play well and gain the reputation of the country and give good gifts to everyone. Festivals have started all over the villagers to be happy that the boy will come next day.
